How we score: Match scores combine our editorial assessment of each tool's strength on your selected use case (0–100) with bonuses for free tiers, API availability, and Pakistan readiness. Hard constraints (budget, region, privacy) filter tools out entirely. Updated as new models ship.

How this tool works

We maintain editorial scores from 0 to 100 for each AI tool across eight common use cases: writing, coding, research, image generation, voice, documents, hard reasoning, and general chat. When you tell us what you want to do, we surface the highest-scored tool that also clears your budget, region, and privacy filters.

Scores reflect our own use of these tools and the reporting we do on them. They are not based on synthetic benchmarks alone. We update the scores when meaningful new versions ship.

What the filters actually do

  • Use case sets the dimension being scored. A tool that ranks first for coding may rank tenth for writing.
  • Volumechanges what counts as "in budget". At trial volume, a free tier counts as effectively free even if the paid tier is expensive. At heavy volume, we expect you'll hit caps and prefer tools with API access.
  • Budget filters out tools whose effective monthly cost (at your volume) exceeds your cap.
  • Region set to Pakistan filters out anything we cannot recommend from a Pakistani IP without a VPN or a foreign card.
  • Privacy set to high filters out tools whose standard terms of service include training on user data.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI is best for writing?

For long-form writing and editing, Claude Pro is consistently the strongest. It has the cleanest prose, the best instruction following on style, and the most reliable refusal behaviour on plagiarism and citation. ChatGPT Plus is a close second and edges Claude on creative fiction. Gemini Advanced lags on prose quality but wins for writing inside Google Docs.

Which AI is best for coding?

For day-to-day coding inside an IDE, Cursor is the standard. For deep refactoring and architectural work, Claude Pro (especially Claude 4.7) is the most reliable. GitHub Copilot is the right pick if you want inline autocomplete without changing editors. For free, DeepSeek's chat is surprisingly competitive on common tasks.

Which AI is best for research?

Perplexity Pro is purpose-built for research and is the only tool here that cites its sources cleanly by default. Gemini Advanced's Deep Research mode is a close second for multi-step research reports. NotebookLM is the right tool if you already have your source documents and want to interrogate them.

What about free tools?

Set the budget filter to 'Free only'. The strongest free combinations are: Claude Free (writing, PDFs), ChatGPT Free (general use), Perplexity Free (research), DeepSeek (coding and reasoning), and NotebookLM (documents). For most users, the free tiers cover 80% of normal usage.

Why are some tools excluded for Pakistan?

A few services either block Pakistani IPs, refuse Pakistani-issued cards, or require a US/UK billing address that does not match a Pakistani-issued card's BIN. The Pakistan filter removes any tool we cannot reliably recommend from a Karachi or Lahore IP without a VPN.

What if I need more than one tool?

Most serious users end up running two or three. A common stack: Claude Pro or ChatGPT Plus for general use, Cursor or GitHub Copilot if you code, and Perplexity Pro for research. Total monthly: $50 to $60. The cost calculator on our tools page helps you estimate API spend if you go heavier.
