Water-based battery aims to turn data centers into energy storage
SuperDielectrics is developing a water-based battery that cannot catch fire, making it safe to install directly on server racks. The battery could absorb power spikes from AI workloads, a task lithium-ion batteries are banned from due to fire risk. The company says it has not ruled out using the technology to turn entire data centers into energy storage.
