US Sanctions First VPN Service for Aiding Ransomware Gangs
The US Treasury sanctioned VPN provider 1VPNS and two individuals for supporting ransomware attacks against Americans. 1VPNS, run by a 45-year-old Ukrainian, allegedly offered its services to cybercriminal groups. This marks the first time OFAC has targeted a VPN service for ransomware enablement.
