Thread-Based Circuits Enable Wearable Health Monitoring
Tufts University researchers created thread-based circuits that can be sewn into clothing to monitor breathing and blinking. The circuits use gold-coated thread with organic transistors and self-healing eutectogel, bending and stretching without breaking. A DIY version uses LilyPad boards and conductive thread for classroom projects.

The self-healing eutectogel is a notable advance over hydrogels, but the DIY approach still relies on off-the-shelf components, not the thread-scale circuits described.
