Median software version lifespan is just 18 months, study finds
A study of 7,144 software versions across 463 products found the median supported lifespan is 18 months. Cloud services die fastest at 0.9 years, while hardware lasts 2.9 years. The data comes from endoflife.ai's database of end-of-life dates.
