How MTProto Obfuscation and FakeTLS Evade Deep Packet Inspection
Telegram's MTProto protocol uses fixed byte signatures that DPI filters easily block. Obfuscation layers randomize initial bytes, random padding blurs traffic patterns, and FakeTLS wraps connections in valid HTTPS handshakes. These techniques together make it difficult for censors to detect and block Telegram traffic.
