Free VPN extensions caught stealing clipboard data every half second
Researchers at Socket discovered two 'VPN Go' browser extensions for Chrome and Firefox that secretly exfiltrated clipboard contents after updates. The extensions posed as free VPNs but read clipboard data every 500 milliseconds. Users who installed them risked exposure of passwords, crypto addresses, and other sensitive copied text.
