Virginia Bans Sale of Geolocation Data
Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin signed HB 301, prohibiting the sale of geolocation data without consent. The law, effective July 1, 2025, exempts law enforcement and emergency services. Virginia joins California and other states in tightening location privacy protections.
