Resurrecting JMXMP: The JDK's Forgotten Single-Port Protocol
JMXMP, a JMX transport using one port instead of RMI's dynamic ports, has been abandoned since 2008 but remains useful for modern networks. A developer forked and modernized the reference implementation, removing dead RMI code and fixing security defaults. The revived library now works with jlink and JDK module system.
