New York enacts one-year ban on large data centers, targets tax breaks
New York became the first US state to impose a one-year moratorium on data center projects larger than 50 megawatts. The state will also pursue repealing tax exemptions for such facilities. A Generic Environmental Impact Statement will be created to establish consistent standards and study environmental effects.
