Meta faces $12B EU fine over addictive Instagram, Facebook feeds
The EU found Meta in breach of the Digital Services Act for failing to assess risks from addictive design of Instagram and Facebook. Meta may be forced to redesign both apps and fined up to $12 billion. The preliminary ruling targets algorithmic feeds that keep users engaged at the expense of mental health.
