MCP server audit finds a third fail agent usability tests
A developer scanned 36 popular MCP servers with a new linting tool, mcpgrade, and found 11 scored D or F. The main issue is missing parameter descriptions, causing models to hallucinate arguments or ignore tools. Servers from MongoDB, Notion, Airtable, and firecrawl were among the worst performers.
