Laravel AI SDK's web tools break with some providers; custom fix offered
The Laravel AI SDK's WebSearch and WebFetch tools only work with certain providers like Anthropic and OpenAI, silently failing on Groq or DeepSeek. Even when available, they return unstructured data without citation tracking. Developer Steve McDougall's Tabstack package provides a provider-agnostic research tool that returns cited answers.
