ESP32 and ToF Sensors Turn Antique Lamp Into Interactive Light Sculpture

A maker retrofitted a vintage floor lamp with eight VL53L1X time-of-flight sensors and an ESP32, enabling it to detect proximity and adjust brightness and sound accordingly. The sensors use a PCA9548A multiplexer to avoid I2C address conflicts, and a Raspberry Pi maps distance data to musical notes. The project demonstrates practical multi-sensor I2C scaling for interactive installations.
