Auto-Publish Pipeline Shipped Two-Year-Old News; Here's the Three-Layer Fix
A fully automated content pipeline published a 2024 news story in July 2025 because recency checks only applied to product items, not news. The LLM judge also lacked a currency evaluation in its rubric. The fix adds three layers: widening deterministic checks, adding recency to the judge's rubric, and extracting event dates from content to compare with feed timestamps.
