Anthropic's Claude Code skills: docs vs. practice gap revealed

Anthropic's official SKILL.md guidelines recommend under 500 lines, but their own docx skill is 590 lines. Analysis of all 17 official skills shows most are single files without subfolders, and descriptions should be pushy to ensure triggering. The key insight: size targets are flexible, and exclusion clauses are only needed when skills overlap.
