AliExpress fined $629M by EU over counterfeit goods

The European Union fined AliExpress $629 million for failing to prevent the sale of counterfeit and illegal products on its platform. This is the largest penalty ever imposed under the EU's Digital Services Act. The fine targets the company's insufficient content moderation and consumer protections.
