8 Free Food APIs That Can Return Wrong Data with a 200 OK
A developer tested eight keyless food and nutrition APIs on July 8, 2026, and found that many return HTTP 200 with erroneous data. Open Food Facts, the largest open nutrition database, responds with status:0 for invalid barcodes while still returning a 200.
